Battery and charging 🔋

The battery in the Monil collars are designed to last the entire grazing season. To preserve battery capacity over several years, it is important to charge them before winter storage.

Charging station

Charging stations are included in the delivery. The charging station can be mounted on the wall and comes with a 1.2-meter USB-A cable.

The collar should only be charged in the charging station provided. This is because the charging station ensures that the voltage is applied to the correct contact points. Charging with other equipment may damage the collar.

Light and charging

The light on the collar flashes blue when the collar is charging and turns steady green when charging is complete. If the collar lights up red, it means the collar is not charging even though there is voltage from the charger. If this happens, remove the charger from the charging station and try again. Contact customer support if the issue persists.

Charged with solar panel or charging station

The solar panel provides the necessary energy for a full grazing season. Upon delivery, the collars come with about 70% battery. If you place them outdoors for a couple of days, they will be almost fully charged. The included charging station can of course also be used.

Weather and movement patterns affect battery level

Factors such as weather conditions, sunlight, the size of the virtual fence, and the animals' movement patterns can affect the battery's lifespan. For example, the collar will use more power if the animal is close the virtual fence boundary.

Check battery level in the app

We recommend using the app to monitor the battery level of the collar to adjust usage as needed.
