What to do if an animal escapes?
Remember that a virtual fence does not replace the need to check in on your animals. If you receive a notification about escaped animals, you should ensure that everything is in order in the pasture.
Alarm in the app
When an animal escapes, it will trigger an alarm in the app, and you will be able to see where the animal is moving. Although the app provides a good overview of your animals, we still recommend doing a physical check when an animal has escaped.
Multiple escapes at the same location
In the app, you can also see where the animal escaped along the fence boundary. If multiple escapes happen at the same location, it might be worth considering the following:
- Are the escapes happening in a too narrow path?
- Are the escapes occurring on a downhill slope?
- Is there a natural resting place or path outside the fence boundary?
- Is the fence adjacent to another pasture with other animals?
- Is the grass simply greener on the other side? 🌱
In such cases, we recommend adjusting the fence boundaries so the animals don’t escape.
An animal that frequently escapes?
