Moving animals between virtual fences
Read about what you need to consider and do when moving your animals between different grazing areas and virtual fences.
1. Moving animals into a virtual fence
When animals enter a new virtual fence, the collars will not trigger sound or shocks. The fence only activates after the animal has entered inside the boundary.
👉 In general: You can choose whether to add the animals to the virtual fence in the app before or after the physical move. If there is a risk of GPS interference (roofs, sheds, dense vegetation), always add them to the fence in the app afterwards.
Two common scenarios:
1️⃣ From trailer or barn
- Move the animals physically into the fence area (release them from trailer or barn).
- Once inside, add them to the fence in the app.
2️⃣ From one pasture to another (without GPS interference)
- First add the animals to the new fence in the app.
- Then move them physically into the new pasture.
2. Moving animals out of a virtual fence
When animals are moved out of a virtual fence, they must be removed from the fence in the app first.
If you do not do this, the collars will trigger sound and eventually shocks as the animals cross the fence boundary, just like during an escape.
