Fenceless with Monil Collars

Some virtual fencing collars have tracking units hanging below an animal's neck, but Monil has placed the technology on top of the animal’s neck.

Track and contain your livestock 24/7 with GNSS technology.

At Monil, we put our electronic unit in a unique position: on top! Some virtual fencing collars have tracking units hanging below an animal's neck, but Monil has placed the technology on top of the animal’s neck.

With the electronic unit above the neck, the antenna is positioned to provide the best GNSS (Global Navigation Satellite System) conditions and improved 4G coverage. Good coverage means your livestock are contained within the fencing boundaries you’ve drawn, and you can also track them easily.

Solar Panels on Top of Monil’s Collars

You’ll rarely, if ever, need to charge Monil collars during the grazing season. Solar panels are mounted above the electronics, so the panels face the sky and charge during sunny days. Prolonged periods without sun can affect the battery levels. However, only in extreme cases with long sunless periods have we experienced devices needing manual charging. You can track battery levels in the app, giving you ample warning if levels get low. When the collars come off at the end of the grazing season, simply charge the electronic device to three-fourths charge before storing it for the winter.

We’ve designed the collar to cope with the realities of livestock management. It can withstand beating, harsh weather conditions, and cloudy days. During our extensive testing process, we found that having the electronic device on top of the neck makes it less susceptible to wear and tear.

The Collar’s Secure Locking Mechanism is Fully Adjustable

You’ll find that putting on the collar is a straightforward process. The clasp under the collar holds the Monil collar securely in place. The attachment mechanism acts as a counterweight to keep the electronics at the top of the neck. You can easily adjust the collar size and add on a bell.

Norwegian Quality and Production

We cooperate with experienced Norwegian manufacturers to deliver products of the highest quality. At our Norwegian headquarters, our skilled designers continually work to improve our collars, and programmers adjust the app based on user feedback. After we cast the components, the electronic units are produced at Hapro Electronics in Hadeland. Pilot farmers in Norway and Scotland continually test potential new features for the collar. Some new features make the cut; others don’t.
